Monica:  gym teacher I think it is good to have a full day of gym because people learn many things and fave fun!   

                                     NTA

In NTA we were supposed build our own vehicle. Alec and I were a group. We made a cool vehicle. Normally when we have NTA we work with the people sitting next to us but we this time we got to choose. When Alec and I were building our vehicle we were thinking to build it very wide on the sides.

                                                              

On the 20th of May, Hillary was sick. So the last lesson of the day Anders took care of us. He put on a movie on Netflix called life. It was about reptiles. The reptiles we saw in the movie were: camelions, crocodiles, frogs, snakes and comodo dragons. We got to see the comodo dragons hunt a waterbuffolo.

Riksfinalen 

On Saturday we went to Västerås and their we had the Swedens biggest chess tournament where kids from all around Sweden came from up I the north and down in the south. Some people had to stay over night at a hotel next to the arena. some of us went by train. It was a double Decker train. it was very nice and clean train. We sat on the lower deck and it was very conferrable and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't the longest or the shortest ride. We arrived at the station at 08:24 then we walked 2km then we arrived at ABB arena. The people who went by car said that there was a lot of  traffic and it was very hot so they had to put up the windows. They arrived at different times like  90:00 09:20 or 09:45.                       

Chess tournament for the 4 players in our class that won all there games in Globen

They get to go to Zinkensdamm and play an individual tournament. The 4 players are Alex,Freja,Baltasar and Jesper. There are 114 players in the chess tournament.they get to play 7 matches. Everyone gets to play in the same group. They represent our class. If they come in the top 10 they get medals. 

They will have a lot of fun, and we hope they will do good.

                                                                 Sleep In 

On Saturday we were in Västerås unfortunately Oscar and Liam were not there. That meant that when we came back to school we got a sleep in and normally we would end at 15:00 but we ended at 13:20instead. Then Karin came in to the classroom since she is Alex's mom. She came in with a chocolate cake and Hillary came in with chocolate balls and then we sat there In our classroom and ate cake. We got because we did so well in playing chess.

Stora Skuggan

This week we went on a class field trip to Stora Skuggan. Stora Skuggan is a big nature preserve. One of the activities there was going around, finding 5 flowers, then identifing them, and finnaly drawing one of them. 

At 12:00 we had to give our results of what we found.

After that we had a sort of free time to explore the area. A lot of people went on a hill. 

When they came back the most of them got burned by Brändnestlor. That was when some of the kids made a "Medicle Center" underneeth a grove of trees.

The proccess is top secret but all we are saying is that you only need nature.

Week 20

The Rights of The Child

On the Thursday the 15th of May 2014 class 4B looked at the rights of the child. There are 54-56 articles that all countries agree except America and Somalia. America doesn't agree with these articles because they don't think that everybody follows the rules properly and will only agree when it's working properly and everybody is following them. The articles first started right after WW2 broke out when millions of adults were at war the countries were kept running by children. They made it  stop with these 54-56 articles.   

     

Mobile Phones

So the fritids teachers said that you are not allowed to use your phones. They said that you would be allowed to discuss the phone rule, you would go to fritids on Wednesday to talk to Anders (fritids teacher) eventually they came up with that we are allowed to use our phones on Wednesdays only. We still want it on Fridays and Wednesdays. Julian and Alec were out!! ✌️

On Saturday it's happening!! We are going to Västerås to play " Schackfyran finalen ". In the final you have 10 minutes each in all the matches. In the last round everybody that plays gets a very small king statue!! We're also very sorry that Oscar couldn't come ...but he helped us get there! We will miss you Oscar but we'll take a lot of photos!

               On Thursday we had bild with Katarina. We drew vikings, because we are studying and writing a fact text and making a big poster of viking age. We drew the vikings with pencil and then we coloured them, not every one is finish them. We have drawn and painted viking ships and houses. Here is a three of the viking pictures.

At Easter in Sweden you decorate Easter eggs and sometimes you hide the one filed with candy. In Sweden there is a story that the witches flew to a place called Blåculla.

   

                                                     

Harry Potter 

In gym on Monday we played Harry Potter which is a game when you are suppose to nock the other teams cones. There is a goalie that is protecting the cones and can not go out. Thereis one Harry Potter that is suppose to go around and make x'es on all backs if they are out.

                                                              Substitute

This week we had a sub she was really nice her name was Moa. Moa was here because Hillary was sick we did our presentations with her. A lot of people got to film the presentations. 

                                                          Chess tournament questions 

This week we where suppose to answer the chess tournament questions to be with. The questions where about your name, if you are eating there or not, and if you wanted to take the car there or bus,train or something. Some parent sent a link In mail to answer the questions.

                                                                  Presentations!!!

This week everyone hade a disease, illness or health issue presentation. Some of the diseases were H.I.V, diabetes, lukeimia / cancer of the blood, dyslexia, cancer, chicken pox and the epidemic plague.

                              Dance Show 

  On Wednesday we went to a dance show about the rights of a child and human rights. It was fun because you could sent what you thought about the rights of a child and it would pop up on a projection on the wall. Som people went up on the stage and danced and julian got interviewed on stage.

Music Quiz

On the Wednesday the 2nd of April  we were supposed to have music  but Thomas was sick so instead we had  planned to make our own music in "Garage Band".  We  found another app called "Music Quiz". It made you listen to a song and asked you what artist or what the song name was. We did it nearly the entire lesson. Some people even stayed in from their recess.  It was very fun and some of the questions were hard. A few people came further while others had to get help from others.

 

The Case of the Flying Toy

On Thursday we did another case. This one was called The Case of the Flying Toy. There was one guy that everyone called gramps and he once invented a toy called “FlyFlip”. But Backwards Industries invented a thing called “Spiral Wiz”. Spiral Wiz and FlyFlip were identical. Backwards Industries had bought the patent on it, but still Andrew Dobbs (gramps grandson) sais that Backwards Industries copied gramps invention. We in the class were the jury so we were suppose to solve the case.

  


 Changing Places

Today the 4th of the 4th 2014 we changed places we all stood against the wall and Hillary picked people and sat them on places.

Geography 

At geography we could chose  sea ,city, forest ,agriculture. You would have to write about what you chose. If you chose the sea  you'll have to write how it looked like before and after. Same thing with the the other groups. You work 2 and 2 but one group is 3.  That group has agricultural. It was really fun.               

 Area 

We learned about  area with Katarina and Lotta. we got a piece of A4 paper with one by one centimeter squares on. Our task was to cut out a shape out of 12 squares and glue them onto a paper! :-)

Woodwork

This week in woodwork we tested our bridges. They needed to be 50cm long and 10cm wide. They also needed to hold ten kilos. The groups were Stella & Freja, Liam & Alex, Wilma & Molly, Ella & Vera, Julian & Nathan and Alec & Baltasar. All the bridges held ten kilos and we started on building with metal thread. We need to make a necklace and a ring.

GYM-KLOCKAN

On Monday we had gym and we played klockan which is a game when there are lots of stations where you run with a beanbag over a "plint" and leave it in a basket and then run back over the "plint". The people that are doing klockan have to get rid of all the beanbags the other people that are doing the other stations can stop and go to the next station.Then there is a station when you are suppose to run around with high knees on a thick mat. Then there is a station where you are to stand in "planckan" which is when are suppose to lay down but with your back up and so it looks like a bridge. Then you go to the next station which is step ups and that is when are suppose to step up and down on a bench. The next station are push-ups (normal push-ups). When the people that are doing klockan are finish then everyone else should stop and then go and shower.

NTA Project

This week in NTA we talked about a standard vehicle. We got to build one to. The standard vehicle was complicated but fun to build in the end. A standard vehicle is a vehicle most people use like car or a train.

                                                        MULTIPLICATION BINGO

This week in class if you finished your maths test you go to play multiplication bingo. You have a sheet of paper with four playboards and two of each number from five to ten. You picked two numbers from the pile of fives to tens and if you piced for example five and six you get 5 times 6

And the summ is your number, so five times six is thirty. Here is a photo of a playing board.

                                                                 

Sewing bag

In sewing we have to make sewing bags. First you take a fabric and sew along the sides. After that you sew thread on the bag and a few centimeters in between. Then you take two buttons and sew them on the bag and then you can put them on the button and off. And then you also sew on your initials and then your finished.                                                                      

                                                                           

Gym      Alec & Julian

On Monday at gym we were training on standing on our hands and doing somersault backwards and forwards. If you did both you would get a checkmark on a piece of paper beside your name, which meant that you were abel to do it.                                                                     

D Math step game

In the math step game you have card 1000. You roll 3 dice and then you put together the numbers. So if you get 3,6,1 then you can get 361,316,613,631,136 and 163. Then you put it on the card. The winner is the person who fills in every single box.      

                                 

Math test

Tuesday the 25th of March class 4B did a math test. The math test that we did was actually "diagnos" 4 in "Matte Borgen" but Hillary printed it out on paper for the class. We got a math paper and another paper to show our work on, and to remember who they belonged to we had to write our names on them.
